Atticus's Blessing Day

Sweet little Atticus was given a blessing by Daddy yesterday in our church. He looked very handsome in his fancy suit from Grandma & Grandpa Davies. It's good he still fit in it--he probably won't by next week. He was surrounded by his uncles and grandpas for the blessing. Atticus has brought us joy since his birth and was promised to continue to bring joy to those around him. He's got plenty of great things in store for his future. We're glad we got to spend the day with our great family!

Atticus's First Easter

Atticus got himself all dressed up for Easter. He wore a sweater vest and khakis and little shoes (for all the walking he does now).

We died Easter eggs together. James and I had to help him with his first one, but then he really got artistic with the rest of them all by himself. We were very impressed with one of his best creations--it had three colors.

Atticus especially enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Our Growing Boy

Atticus came to us with huge feet and hands-- evidence of his future large stature.

Now we've got even more evidence that he will be
(well, already is) a big boy. His tummy is filling out,
he's getting chubby thighs, and check out those
cheeks. So kissable!

This week he had his 2 week check-up at the pediatrician's office and we got the empirical data. He was 9 lbs. 9 oz. and 21.5 inches long. That's pretty big for any baby (75th percentile for both weight and height), but particularly remarkable for a kid who was 2 lbs. lighter at birth. Babies are expected to merely regain weight lost after birth and return to their birth weight by 2 weeks old, not exceed it by 2 lbs! The doctor said he's just a rapid grower and that he looks perfect. We say he looks perfectly large... and in charge.

Atticus the Star

Here's a li'l slideshow we put together from Atticus's first photoshoot when he was 10 days old. Thanks Kylee for taking them for us.

Just hanging out

Keeping one eye open
