What a Cutie

Stories!

Atticus is learning to love reading. He looks at the pictures and listens intently when he's being read to, and sometimes coos and babbles like he's reading as well (seen above reading with Grandpa and Grandma Davies).

This week we attended our first Bouncing Babies Story Time at the library. Atticus went wild. The Story Time lady read stories, talked to the babies, sang to them, and had the moms do nursery rhymes and games with the babies too. Atticus was so excited about the whole experience. He waved his arms and legs around, squealed, talked, smiled, and giggled. He was seriously so excited he was frantic. When we got home he was perhaps a little over-stimulated. He fussed for a while until he finally fell asleep and took a nap. A four hour nap. That's right, it took him four hours to recover from the excitement of Story Time.

Atticus's First Camping Trip

We had a really fun weekend camping.

First we drove way out west.

Then we set up camp and sat in our camp chairs.

Some of us were particularly cute on our chairs.

We roasted bratwurst (and not-wurst) and marshmallows.

And we snuggled up. Atticus got his mittens all slobbery
by trying to chomp on his hands through them.

In the morning we just chilled and cooked some delicious camp breakfast.

Then we said goodbye to our fun camp site.
Atticus was glad to not have to sleep in the tent again. He didn't really dig that.

When we got home we were plum-tuckered out!

Atty The Adventurer

Atticus love to go on outings. In fact, he wishes they would never end. He prefers that the car be in constant motion, that the stroller never pause, and that we not take any breaks when walking with him in our arms or in his carrier. Traffic lights and stop signs are the enemy!

Last week Atty joined us hiking and he also went swimming for the first time while his cousins were visiting. He was a great sport and he really enjoyed both trips. We'll need to be out and about with him again soon since he loves adventures so much.
