Atticus is Eleven Months Old!

Here are some shots of Atty in action.  You ought to especially enjoy the last three:

At eleven months old Atticus:
  • Is (seriously, can you believe it?) almost a YEAR old
  • Weighs about 23 pounds
  • Is weaned--hallelujah!
  • Loves gadgets and the mouse on the computer
  • Is a very loquacious and expressive young man (but lacks the ability to say any words we recognize besides Mamamamama and Dadadadadada)
  • Crawls like a racehorse
  • Cruises around furniture like a champ and can even stand on his own for a few seconds
  • Is eating more table foods and especially loves begging for whatever is on Mommy's plate
  • Is excited to announce that he's expecting a baby brother or sister around August 2nd!

He's still cute

So, blogging has gotten a lot harder lately.  We seem to be taking fewer pictures and videos of Atticus and spending less time online.  That's probably a good thing, because it means Atty is more active and we're spending more time playing with the little rascal, rather than documenting his every move.  He sure is sweet and fun.  We've had a rough week with none of us feeling well, and Atty being especially sick, but hopefully we're on the upswing.  The good news is...he's still cute.  We didn't forget to share that with you today, Blogging World.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Atticus turned Ten Months Old

We had a delightful, busy holiday season that we're still recovering from.  Who knows if I'll ever get caught up on dishes and laundry.  Some of the highlights of our celebrations were:
  • picking out our Christmas tree and decorating our home
  • playing in the snow--Atty wore his awesome snowsuit, sometimes happily, sometimes not
  • watching Atticus play with the tree ornaments and the presents (some gifts had to be re-wrapped)
  • making gingerbread houses
  • swimming with the Davies family
  • playing with cousins
  • acting out the Christmas story with the Bradleys (James was a shepherd, Atticus a sheep dog, and I was Mary)
  • eating our Christmas breakfast fondue (among many other delicious holiday meals)
  • enjoying Atty's new toys

Also, Atticus turned ten months old on Christmas Eve.  Our little boy is turning into such a clever, happy, and active person.  It's a little sad, though fun and exciting, to think that he'll turn a year old next month.  His stats and skills of late include:
  • weighing in at about 21 pounds
  • standing up and cruising around furniture
  • walking while pushing his new push toys
  • near constant babbling
  • still wanting to be held and cuddle a lot
  • hiding toys in various cupboards and drawers throughout the condo, which he delights in finding later

Atticus at 9 months

Late but great, here are some photos and stats about Atticus at 9 months old:

At 9 months old, Atticus:
  • Is 29" long (75th percentile)
  • Weighs 20 lbs. 8 oz. (50th percentile)
  • Has a head circumference of about 18.5" (75th percentile)
  • Crawls really fast and gets into everything
  • Pulls himself up on furniture and likes to play standing up
  • Loves cell phones, gadgets, and (unfortunately) cords
  • Says "mamamamama" and "dadadadadada" all day long, but how can anybody even tell whether that means "Mama" and "Dada"?
  • Giggles and plays and interacts with us more than ever before

A visit to Temple Square

We got Atticus rather bundled up and took him out to see the pretty Christmas lights.
He enjoyed all the lights and also riding on Daddy's shoulders.
We had fun too, except for the fact that getting through the massive crowd at Temple Square required us to use our rarely rehearsed combat skills.

Teeth

Here are the teeth Atticus has so far.
They are coming in fast (and cute).
