Everyone is adjusting well to our new family of four. It is SO much better to have sweet little Violet outside my belly than to still be pregnant. My body is still healing and adjusting, but I'm feeling better each day. The delivery and recovery have been much better the second time around. The sleep deprivation is equally challenging. James has been doing so much for all of us. He is a selfless and generous father and husband. We're all grateful for him!
Violet has spent her first week and a half snoozing, eating, filling her diapers, and generally being a sweetheart.

Atticus has spent his first week as a big brother wearing a basket on his head, playing around the house, going on outings with Daddy, trying on other people's shoes, riding his tricycle, playing in puddles, and splashing at an outdoor fountain with his cousins. He thinks his new sister is swell, but doesn't understand the idea of being careful with her. The constant refrain around our house is: "be gentle, be soft".

If we had a nanny, a housekeeper, and an extra room in the condo for James's home office (away from the sound of kids crying--seemingly always at the same time), things would be perfectly under control. Since we don't, we'll settle for barely keeping a handle on it all. We make a pretty good team.

Kirsten, you look so good. Little Violet is so beautiful. Does she look like a little girl Atticus? From what I remember from his baby pictures, they look a lot a like.
You look great Kirsten! What a cute family picture! I am glad you are all doing well. Life with kids is just crazy!!
She's beautiful! It took Jordyn along time to understand the condept of being "soft". Good luck!
What a fashion show! Violet looks absolutely beautiful and Atticus looks so handsome--they're just like their mom and dad.
Love,
Mom and Grandma
